Planet Maryland Festival Returns for Lessons on Sustainability

The annual Planet Maryland Festival invites the community to celebrate sustainability with talks from nutrition experts and advocates, food vendors and exhibitions. The festival will take place on June 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Elm Street Urban Park.

Throughout the festivities, food is a central theme. Speakers will take the festival’s main stage to discuss topics like veganism and nutrition. Additionally, over 50 businesses will sell food, including several plant-based options.

The festival will also feature tables from advocacy groups, including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and the Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM), and local businesses.

For younger attendees, the event will host a “Planet Play Zone” organized by Bethesda company Pink Moon.

The event will be held on 4600 Elm St. in Chevy Chase.
