Police Emphasize 2 Separate Fatal Hit and Runs Are Not Related

Police continue to investigate two separate fatal pedestrian hit and runs that occurred within a few days of each other in Montgomery County.

According to county police, in both collisions it is believed a white Acura was involved — but Assistant Chief Marc Yamada emphasized Wednesday that the two crashes did not involve the same car and are not related.

Captain Warren Jensen said that as of Wednesday morning, investigators are confident they found the car from the first collision, which occurred Friday near the intersection of Randolph Road and Kimblewick Drive.

The second fatal pedestrian hit and run was Monday around Veirs Mill Road and Monterrey Drive, according to police. Jensen said that second crash is the one police “truly need help with at the moment.” Investigators believe the car — a 2009-2014 white Acura four door model TL — will have significant damage.

Police ask anyone with information to contact collision reconstruction unit detectives at crunit@montgomerycountymd.gov or at (240) 773-6620.
