Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continues to investigate a fatal collision on June 10 in the vicinity of Veirs Mill and Newport Mill Roads.
At approximately 8 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to the location for the report of a collision between a SUV and motorcycle.
In the collision, Vincent James Rizzo, 36, of Silver Spring was thrown from a silver and black 2004 Yamaha motorcycle. According to Montgomery County Police, Rizzo was traveling east on Veirs Mill Road at 8 a.m.
The driver of a silver Nissan Rogue was making a left turn from westbound Veirs Mill Road to Newport Mill Road when the driver struck the motorcyclist, according to police.
The driver and front seat occupant were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Rizzo died June 20, according to police.
