Police: Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck Twice on I-270

Police said a pedestrian died after running onto I-270 and being struck twice.

Adan Morales Garcia, 40, of Germantown, was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday morning, per a release from the Maryland State Police Department.

Troopers responded to I-270 South, north of Montrose Road, at about 7:50 a.m. for a reported pedestrian struck. According to police, Garcia ran into the road from the shoulder “for unknown reasons.”

He was struck twice, according to police.

“A Lincoln passenger vehicle was unable to avoid Garcia and struck him. Garcia was then struck by a second vehicle, a Volkswagen sedan,” per the release.

Police said the cause of the collision is under investigation.

Also, on Saturday, a man was killed following a police chase on I-270 south of Route 28.
