Police Release Sketch of Suspect Wanted for Assaults on Bethesda Trolley Trail

Montgomery County Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted one woman and attempted to assault another on the Bethesda Trolley Trail two months ago.

Police now have a sketch of the suspect and are asking the public to let them know if they have any information concerning these incidents from Sept. 14.

One victim told police that she was walking her dog at the intersection of Woodglen Drive and Executive Boulevard at 9:45 p.m. when a man walked toward her and then sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled westbound on Executive Boulevard on an electric scooter, according to police.

About 30 minutes later, a woman called police to say she was walking along the trail when she came to a man sitting on a bench. The suspect started talking to her and then attempted to grab her purse and assaulted her. He fled the area on an electric scooter toward Tuckerman Lane.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the same man was involved in both incidents.

He is described as a white or mixed-race male, approximately 6-feet tall, weighing 190 pounds with dark hair and wearing glasses.
