Raskin to Join County “United in Service” Webinar on May 7

U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin will join a May 7 webinar titled “How to Fight Back: Effectively Engaging in Federal Advocacy and Know Your Rights.”

The event begins at 7 p.m. and is part of the Montgomery County Council’s United in Service series.

Councilmember Kristin Mink will host the webinar in response to federal actions affecting public servants and county residents. The event will focus on how residents can organize and advocate effectively at the federal level. Organizers and attorneys will also share legal advice and strategies to support impacted federal employees.

Panelists include Richard Renner and Kevin L. Owen of Gilbert Employment Law, both experienced in federal employment cases. A representative from the Federal Unionist Network will also speak.

This is the sixth session in the council’s biweekly series. Residents can watch previous sessions on the County Council’s YouTube channel.

Residents may submit questions anytime via this form and find more information on the Council’s resource webpage, which also offers county service details.

The webinar will be available in Spanish, broadcast on County Cable Montgomery, and streamed on the Council’s YouTube page.
