Real Housewives of Potomac Star Released From Prison

Karen Huger, a star of the hit show The Real Housewives of Potomac, is no longer in prison after serving six months in the Montgomery County Detention Center. She had been sentenced to one year in prison following her conviction on DUI charges.

A jury found the 62-year-old Virginia resident guilty on five out of six charges. They included driving under the influence, negligent driving, failure to control speed and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was acquitted of reckless driving charges.

The charges stemmed from a March 19, 2024, incident in which Huger crashed her Maserati into a pole near Oaklyn Drive in Potomac.

According to a Chicago news station, Huger acknowledged the serious nature of the incident and committed to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for life. She also expressed remorse for her actions.

Her release has led to criticism and questions about whether her celebrity status led to the early end of her original sentence.
