Those working to reduce waste in the community were honored Thursday during the county’s 24th Annual Recycling Achievement Awards.
MyMCM spoke to The Green Team of Ingleside at King Farm, which won Multi-Family Green Team Committee of the Year, as well as Peter Brokt, owner of The Colourist Salon who is a recipient of the Outstanding Efforts in Waste Reduction and Recycling award.
The awards recognized multi-family properties, businesses, organizations, individuals and government facilities for achievements in waste reduction during a ceremony at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
Other awards included Waste Reduction and Recycling Champions, plus an award for Commercial Food Scraps Recycling Partners. See a list of recipients here.
