Rockville Police Investigate 2 Shootings in 24 Hours

For the second time in two days, Rockville City Police officers are investigating a shooting. In both incidents, the suspects were teenagers, and ghost guns were used.

Caleb Jiron, 18, of Frederick, and Ferddy Gonzalez-Soto, 18, of Montgomery Village, were charged in connection with a shooting Thursday on North Washington Street. Both teens were armed with ghost guns, according to police.

They are charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and various firearms violations.

The victim is in stable condition in an area hospital.

On Wednesday, police arrested Octavia Brewster, 17, of Lanham, in connection with a shooting in the 600 block of Blandford Street. The victim in this incident was hospitalized in critical condition.

“The Rockville City Police Department responded to two unrelated shootings within 24 hours in our city, and in both cases, arrests were made quickly by our officers. Although arrests have been made, these investigations remain very active. Violence of any type is not welcome in the City of Rockville,” said Chief Jason West.
