Rockville Voters Come Out to Elect Mayor, Councilmembers

Tuesday is Election Day in the cities of Rockville and Gaithersburg.

In Rockville, voters cast ballots to elect a mayor and six councilmembers. MCM talked with both mayoral candidates Monique Ashton and Mark Pierzchala as well as some voters Tuesday morning.

Both Ashton and Pierzchala are currently Rockville City Councilmembers.

There are also four referendum ballot questions on lowering the voting age to 16, allowing noncitizens to vote, setting term limits and creating representative districts. The questions are non-binding and will not result in a change in law.

Rockville residents can vote by mail, drop off ballots at a drop box or vote in-person inside City Hall or Thomas Farm Community Center. Ballots must be received by 8 p.m., according to the city. See outdoor and indoor drop box locations in Rockville.
