According to the Federal Trade Commission, older Americans may have lost as much as $61.5 billion dollars to fraud in 2023 alone.
Tuesday at 10 a.m. the State’s Attorney’s office will hold an older adult Safety Forum at the Holiday Park Senior Center in Silver Spring.
The forum will focus on spreading awareness about scams and how to spot them. State’s Attorney John McCarthy and others will speak about the current Gold Bar scam and other financial criminal cases. A question-and-answer session will follow.
