Registration for Montgomery County Recreation’s winter youth basketball program opens Monday, Sept. 28.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. online or at any Recreation Center during business hours. You can also sign up in-person at the County’s administrative office at 2425 Reedie Drive, in Wheaton, on the 10th Floor from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or .
The program is offered for grades k-12, girls and boys, and includes multiple leagues and skills-based clinics.
This is a non-competitive beginner league, and clinics will instill basketball foundations, sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline.
Montgomery County Recreation is still looking for adult volunteers to coach. You must be knowledgeable about basketball techniques and rules and be passionate about helping young people learn and improve. All volunteers must complete a background check.
In addition, Recreation needs officials ages 16 and older who are available on weekends. Training is provided.
