The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is expanding the areas eligible for the Police Private Security Camera Program. The program incentivizes the purchase of security cameras in areas that MCPD has defined as having relatively high crime incidents. MCPD hopes the program will help solve or deter crimes in these areas and owners or tenants of a business, non-profit organization or residence are eligible to apply.
After the purchase and installation of the security camera, a rebate of up to $250 is offered to individual resident applicants. For business and non-profit organizations a rebate of up to $1,250 is available.
