Silver Spring Blues Festival Returns June 14 With Full Day of Music, Food

The 16th annual Silver Spring Blues Festival is set to take place Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Downtown Silver Spring.

The yearly festival includes acoustic and electric performances from 12 bands and musicians playing traditional blues and rock ‘n’ roll. Silver Spring Town Center promises that this year’s festival will be the biggest yet, with a week of concerts and events leading up to the all-day festival on Ellsworth Drive. The festival will also feature local artisans, vendors and food from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

A kick-off show with the Dave Chappell Band featuring Tommy Lepson will precede the festival on Monday, June 9 at 6 p.m. at American Legion Post 941, marking the beginning of Silver Spring Blues Week. Events are also set to take place across the week at Koiner Farm, Veterans Plaza, El Golfo Restaurant, and United Therapeutics.
