Silver Spring Jazz Festival Lineup Announced

The 2025 Silver Spring Jazz Festival will feature seven acts across two stages, including the Preservation Hall Jazz Band as the headliners. On Saturday, Sept. 6, at Veterans Plaza, the county invites the public to sing, dance and all that jazz at the annual free festival. 

Performances will showcase a variety of jazz subgenres, including samba, Latin jazz, and blues. 

The festival will take place from 3-10 p.m. at 1 Veterans Place in downtown Silver Spring. 

Here is the full lineup for the 2025 festival. 

2025 Silver Spring Jazz Festival Schedule

Trio Caliente
Second Stage at 3 p.m.
Description: The trio, known for their blend of lyrics in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, performs a mix of samba, Brazilian jazz, and salsa.

The JoGo Project
First Stage at 3:30 p.m.
Description: Saxophonist Elijah Jamal Balbed, formerly of the James Brown Band, founded the group to perform go-go music and improvisational jazz. 

The Muneer Nasser Quintet
Second Stage at 4:15 p.m.
Description: The Quintet performs a variety of bebop styles, as well as original compositions and jazz standard pieces. 

The Paul Carr Quintet
First Stage at 5 p.m.
Description: Saxophonist Paul Carr, known for founding the Jazz Academy of Music, performs traditional jazz with his group. 

The Clara Campbell Quintet
Second Stage at 5:50 p.m.
Description: Pianist and vocalist Clara Campbell leads the ensemble performing original compositions and jazz standard pieces.

Oh He Dead
First Stage at 7 p.m.
Description: The five-piece band performs jazz infused with soul, funk, folk and rock. Founded by guitarist Andy Valenti and singer CJ Johnson, the band is known for their layered vocal arrangements.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band
First Stage at 8:30 p.m.
Description: The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, founded in the 1960s, performs traditional New Orleans Jazz. The group is known for its improvisational techniques and parade-like rhythmic structures.
