Silver Spring Man Arrested for Assault; Police Looking for More Victims

A man in Montgomery County has been arrested and charged for meeting victims on a dating app, then assaulting and taking their money.

Montgomery County Police say 27-year-old Brandon Darryl Kane arranged to meet his victims on a dating app using the name “Tommy.” Kane is being charged with 2 counts of robbery and first degree assault.

In October, two victims contacted police saying they were assaulted and robbed after meeting up with the suspect. The first victim told police he agreed to pay the suspect money in exchange for sex, then paid for Kane’s Uber to his home before the assault. The second victim reported Kane not only assaulted and robbed him but also forced him out of the apartment where they met.

Police are worried there may be more victims and are asking for them to come forward and contact the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240.773.6870.
