Silver Spring Man Arrested for Fatal Shooting in Takoma Park

The Takoma Park Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has identified and charged 21-year-old Abraham Douglas of Silver Spring with the murder of 23-year-old Ahmadou Bamba Gueye of Takoma Park. The incident occurred Friday evening in the 7600 Block of Maple Avenue in Takoma Park.

Through investigative means, Douglas was located on the night of the incident after burglarizing a residence in the 600 block of Kennebec Avenue in Takoma Park. During the arrest, officers recovered a handgun and a 50-round drum magazine. Douglas was transported to a local area hospital after officers discovered he was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. After being medically treated and released, he was charged with murder, burglary, and firearms violations, among other related charges. Douglas is currently in the custody of the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and is being held on a no-bond status.
