Damonne Antonio Shayne Martin, 23, of Silver Spring, has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault and reckless endangerment in connection with an April 7 shooting at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Wheaton Mall, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
During the investigation, it was determined Martin fired multiple rounds into the front windows of Dick’s Sporting Goods. He had been removed from the store earlier in the day on suspicion of concealing merchandise.
An arrest warrant was obtained, leading to Martin’s arrest on Tuesday, April 15. Police said Martin was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and suspected cocaine at the time of his arrest. After conducting a search at his residence, police determined that there was an intent to distribute the cocaine.

Martin was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he received his charges.
