Silver Spring Man Charged with Manslaughter in Connection with Fatal Overdose

A Silver Spring man was charged with manslaughter in connection with the overdose death of an adult male.

Junior Salvador Alvarez Paz, 22, is accused of selling drugs to the victim on Christmas morning last year. The victim overdosed and died, according to Montgomery County Police.

The Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be fentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl intoxication.

According to police, Alvarez Pax allegedly sold the drugs to the victim. He was arrested June 29 and is being held without bond. He also was charged with distribution of a controlled substance.

On May 3, lab results of the drug found in the victim’s possession tested positive for fentanyl.
