Silver Spring Town Center Hosts Cultural Events During Upcoming Months

The Silver Spring Town Center is hosting several events during the spring and summer months that showcase different aspects of culture and music.

Around the World Bazaar

The event will be held Friday, March 31 in the Great Hall of the Silver Spring Civic Building. This bazaar will provide creative insight into several cultures through global music, international markets, and food stations. Each room in the building will host a culture, ranging from Caribbean to Bulgarian, and each activity will be free to everyone. Some of the more interactive activities will require an RSVP.

  • Stacey Axler: Women’s Comedy Showcase

Family Comedy: A Nice Indian Boy

In collaboration with the Olney Theatre Center, A Nice Indian Boy will be shown from March 8-April 9. The comedy play addresses the complex intersection of tradition, culture, and masculinity through a story about a boy. The show is rated PG-13. 14th Annual Silver Spring Blues Festival

A week dedicated to blues music begins on June 11th and will end on June 17, the day of the festival which will take place in Downtown Silver Spring, and will go on from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. It will feature acoustic blues, artisans, and speciality services. Attendance the festival is free. Anyone interested in hosting an exhibition booth is required to send registration information and provide payment by March 31.
