Stefon Diggs returns home, signs with Commanders

Stefon Diggs is coming home. After building one of the most successful NFL careers of any football player from Montgomery County, he’ll now play wide receiver for his hometown team the Washington Commanders.

After being selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Diggs developed into one of the league’s premier wide receivers. Diggs has earned five Pro Bowl selections and two First-Team All-Pro honors.

Diggs reportedly gets a one-year deal to play in Washington.

The Gaithersburg native went to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School where he starred in football and track. For college, Diggs chose to stay close to home and continue his career at the University of Maryland.
