Suspect Arrested, Victim Identified in Homicide Investigation

Montgomery County Police have identified the woman and man connected to a homicide investigation that began at White Oak Medical Center on Sunday, April 27. The case is now being investigated by the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), where the shooting is believed to have occurred.

At about 7:20 a.m. 3rd District officers responded to the Silver Spring hospital after a man drove a woman with an apparent gunshot wound to the emergency room. He briefly spoke with hospital staff and left before officers arrived. Doctors pronounced the woman dead shortly after.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Brianna Burton of Centreville, Virginia.

Detectives determined the shooting happened in Prince George’s County. PGPD’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation on April 28.

On April 29, PGPD arrested 32-year-old Rogerio Palma of College Park. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder and related offenses in connection with Burton’s death.
