Suspect Charged with Assaulting Takoma Park Police, Store Employee

Kellie Noel Boler, of Washington, D.C., was arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident in which the suspect is alleged to have punched a store employee and assaulted two police officers.

Boler, 32, was charged with strong arm robbery, assault and other offenses in the 2:17 p.m. Tuesday incident.

According to Takoma Park Police, Boler was stealing merchandise from the Walgreens in the 1300 block of University Boulevard when she was approached by an employee. She punched the employee in the face and then fled from the store with the merchandise police said.

Officers found Boler behind Walgreens and conducted a search where they found items that were stolen from Walgreens, police said. She then assaulted two officers before being taken into custody, according to police.

No one was seriously injured in the incident.

Boler was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. She posted a $3,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 12.
