Theater Teams Have 24 Hours to Create a Play

Six Washington, D.C. area theater companies will write, direct, rehearse and perform their original plays – all in 24 hours.

Play in a Day is produced by the Bethesda Urban Partnership and Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District and will be held March 2 at 8 p.m. at Imagination Stage, 4908 Auburn Ave., Bethesda.

On March 1, playwrights and directors will be assigned a theme and given props. The teams then work throughout the night and following day to create a 10-minute show.

Participating theater companies include Adventure Theatre MTC in Glen Echo, Flying V in Bethesda, Imagination Stage in Bethesda, The Keegan Theatre in Washington, D.C., Olney Theatre and We Happy Few in Washington, D.C.

General admission tickets are $18 and can be purchased online. Tickets also will be sold at the door at 7 p.m.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the theater companies that are selected for Best Writing, Best Direction and Best Acting Ensemble.
