Children’s Business Fair Returns After Hiatus

The Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair will return after a three-year hiatus. The event will take place August 19 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Rockville Town Square. The event is free and open to the public.

50 young business owners will participate and have opportunities to win cash awards for innovative ideas, presentations and sales pitches. They will be judged by a panel of local business community members and celebrity influencers. The final list is yet to be announced.

The goal of the fair is to give young people the experience of selling a product or services. The fair gives kids this opportunity by having them to run their booths all on their own with minimal parental assistance.

“The Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair ignites their entrepreneurial spirit”, said fair founder Tameka Montgomery.

Montgomery is a former Obama appointee, senior executive at the U.S. Small Business Administration. She is also the founder of the Raising Entrepreneurs Podcast.
