Schedule

Sept. 5– Salsa Dance on the Plaza with Dance in Time and AM Salsa
DJ Danilo brings the music for an outdoor salsa night. Danceintime and AM Salsa run this outdoor event. All ages are welcome. This is held in light rain; canceled only for thunderstorms. A short basic salsa lesson is followed by lots of social dancing.

Sept. 12 – DJs Relly Belly and Spaurtacus
Bring your day flow props and your dancing shoes to flow into Fall.

Sept. 19 – Afro-Latin Dance Party hosted by Djanira Murchison.
DJ Bachata Larry and dance instructors lead an evening of dance. Dance styles include bachata, salsa, merengue, kizomba, and more. Experience is not necessary as the first 20 minutes of the evening features a lesson on the various dance styles.

Sept. 26 Hand-Dancing Under the Stars with DJ Rick.
Join DJ Rick on Veterans Plaza for an evening of hand-dancing. Bring your partner or be matched up and dance to Motown and old school $&B. Hand dancing originated in Washington, D.C. during the Motown era in the late 1950s. It is essentially a smooth version of the Lindy Hop that features almost constant hand holding and turning between partners, and several step patterns used to keep time.
