Gallery B Presents "Color + Light, Part Two"
November 6, 2025 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Gallery B, 7700 Wisconsin Ave E, Bethesda, MD 20814, USA
| Painters Kathleen Byrnes and Jennifer Howard exhibit their works at Gallery B in November 2025
Kathleen Byrnes has taken to working plein aire, challenging her to work quickly and spontaneously. Byrnes uses the environment to infuse the canvas with mood and emotion. Working in predominantly oil, Byrnes has produced works that explore the light and structure of urban Washington DC, the Virginia and Maryland country side, as well as the inlets, bay, ocean and marshlands of Southern New Jersey. Jennifer Howard is a painter and graphic designer who has lived and worked in Washington, DC for over 37 years. Her paintings are about the moment, the immediacy of paint applied honestly, thickly and emotionally on canvas. She strives to convey a textural quality to the surface with layers of color and an emphasis on capturing light.
The exhibition runs from November 6 – November 30. Gallery hours are Thursdays-Saturdays, 12-5pm, and Sundays 11am-2pm. The gallery will be closed November 27-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

35 Grand Corner Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20878, USA
Join Meg from Magic Moments by Meg (@magicmomentsplaykitsbymeg) for a hands-on Potion Making Workshop — a magical, sensory-filled experience for kids ages 5 to 12. Guided step-by-step, they’ll explore enchanting ingredients like “Bottle Sunshine” and “Fairy Dust,” watch bubbling reactions come to life, and discover how simple chemistry can feel like pure magic.
Each child will also get to design their own take-home potion bottle, designing their own label and layering colors and glitter to create a one-of-a-kind elixir. This workshop is equal parts creative play, science experiment, and unforgettable fun. Perfect for curious kids who love to imagine, explore, and get a little messy! ✨
This workshop is designed for kids! Dropoff is encouraged, but if your child may need extra supervision or support with behavior, we ask that a parent or guardian stay to help them enjoy the experience.

November 8, 2025 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Cooking for Peace with Sister Jenna & Special Guest Naijha Wright-Brown (Talk & Food Served)
Cooking for Peace with Sister Jenna & Special Guest Naijha Wright-Brown (Talk & Food Served)
November 15, 2025 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Brahma Kumaris Meditation Museums, 9525 Georgia Ave Suite 101, Silver Spring, MD 20910, USA
Join us for 'Cooking for Peace' and transform the way you perceive food! We all know the phrase you are what you eat, but we usually just think of the physical effects of food on our health. Come taste and learn to prepare plant-based recipes as we explore how food choices and food preparation affect our mental, spiritual, and physical well-being and the ethical impact on animals and the environment.
This workshop will include insightful discussions and vegan cuisine will be served.
Naijha Wright-Brown is an award-winning entrepreneur and passionate advocate for holistic living who embodies the balance of inner and outer well-being. Her journey toward veganism began after a high cholesterol diagnosis, when she chose a plant-based lifestyle over medication, an empowering decision that reshaped her health and her life’s mission.
As Managing Partner and Marketing Director of Baltimore’s celebrated Land of Kush Vegan Soul Bistro, Naijha has redefined soul food, proving it can be both flavorful and nourishing. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Black Veg Society, where she works to close health disparities by educating and empowering communities of color about the benefits of veganism and holistic wellness. ********************** Sister Dr. Jenna is a spiritual mentor, author, radio and TV personality, and speaker. She hosts The Next Normal on YouTube and is the founder of the Brahma Kumaris Meditation Museum in Maryland. She has been featured on magazine covers, appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for National Community Service. She also presented the “Illuminating the Light Within” fashion show for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Hello, Dolly!
November 18, 2025
Olney Theatre Center, 2001 Olney Sandy Spring Rd, Olney, MD 20832, USA
| Dolly Gallagher Levi is a woman on the make. And what’s she making? Whatever you need. A husband? A wife? Dance lessons? Pierced ears? There’s never been a more indefatigable figure in American musical theatre, and perhaps that’s why the role has served as a vehicle for some of our greatest stars, from Carol Channing to Barbra Streisand to Bette Middler. Now, the DMV’s reigning musical superstar, Nova Y. Payton (World Goes 'Round), takes on the title role of a musical that churns out laughs, songs, and over-the-top antics as fast as humanly possible…and then goes a little faster. Audiences of all ages are guaranteed a great time at this classic musical about love, second chances, and the magic of an adventure to the big city!

Gallery B Presents "Color + Light, Part Two"
Gallery B Presents "Color + Light, Part Two"
November 29, 2025 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Hello, Dolly!
Hello, Dolly!
November 30, 2025
