Shepherd’s Table, a nonprofit in Silver Spring addressing hunger and homelessness, announced a change in leadership.
Starting Friday, Aug. 1, Dr. Jan Weetjens will serve as Interim Executive Director. He replaces Manny Hidalgo who led the organization on Georgia Avenue for six years.
Weetjens is an at large member of Shepherd’s Table’s Board of Directors.
During Hidalgo’s tenure he doubled both the organization’s budget and staff. He launched four programs, including Culinary Skills Training, Advocacy, the Urban Farm and Beyond the Table Mobile Meals.
