What’s Open, What’s Not for Juneteenth Holiday

Montgomery County government has posted the following holiday schedule for Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth:

  • County Offices — closed.
  • State offices and courts — closed.
  • State Motor Vehicle Administration offices and Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program stations — closed.
  • Libraries — closed
  • County Liquor Stores — most stores are open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The Poolesville spirits-only store will be open noon-5 p.m.
  • County-operated COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Clinics — closed.
  • Ride On — will operate on a holiday schedule. View schedules at RideOnBus.com.
  • Ride On extRa and Flex — not in service.
  • Flash — will operate on a weekend schedule (Orange Line only).
  • MARC Train and Commuter Bus — regularly scheduled Sunday Penn Line service on Sunday, June 19. R Schedule on all three lines, in addition Penn Line trains 453 and 452 will operate on Monday, June 20.
  • TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center — open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store — closed.
  • Metrorail and Metrobus — Metrorail will operate on its Sunday schedule on Sunday, June 19, with service from 7 a.m.-midnight. On Monday, June 20, it will operate on a Saturday Holiday schedule, with service between 5 a.m. and midnight. Metrobus will operate on a weekday schedule on Monday, June 20.   • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters — free.
  • Refuse/recycling Collections — operating as normal.
  • The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station — closed Sunday, June 19.
  • Community recreation and senior centers — closed.
  • Recreation: County outdoor aquatic facilities will be open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. Indoor aquatic facilities will close at 6 p.m.
