A Silver Spring resident won $100,000 playing the Maryland Lottery. She claimed her winnings at lottery headquarters in Baltimore on Aug. 23.

She told lottery officials she regularly plays and enjoys checking her tickets while thinking about the possibility of winning. She purchased her winning ticket in the Six Figures game for $10 at the Sunshine Ethio store located at 6907 New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park.

After claiming her prize, she told lottery officials, “winning is the greatest!” She plans to invest some of her winnings and possibly take a vacation.

The Silver Spring woman also has this advice for other lottery players, “Just keep positive.”

The Takoma Park retailer receives a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Maryland allows lottery winners to remain anonymous.
