
Abby Elaine Dunn, of Tallahassee, Fla., was shot Friday while visiting her elderly parents in Dickerson.
She died the following day at a hospital.
She was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. Results of the autopsy are pending, and no charges have been filed at this time, according to Montgomery County police.
Police and fire rescue personnel responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Mt. Ephraim Road Sept. 12 at around 4 p.m. following the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Dunn, 55, in an upstairs bedroom suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to her thigh.
According to a funeral notice, Dunn was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Dickerson. She graduated from Poolesville High School in 1987 and then attended University of Maryland, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Information Science.
She was an active member of Barnesville Baptist Church.
