Wrong-Way Crash Kills Two in Germantown

Two drivers are dead following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 270 early Saturday morning. According to a July 5 Maryland State Police (MSP) news release, the crash happened just before 3 a.m.

A Chevrolet Cruz traveling south on the northbound I-270 lanes at Germantown Road struck a Honda Accord traveling north. MSP stated they don’t know why the Chevrolet was traveling in the wrong direction at the time of the crash.

Ashley Salazar, 25, of Clarksburg, Maryland was the sole occupant of the Chevrolet, and Jeremy De La Torre, 33, of Frederick, Maryland was the sole occupant of the Honda. Montgomery County emergency medical services personnel pronounced both dead at the scene.

The crash continues to be under investigation.
