Kidnapping of Young Girl Determined Unfounded

Montgomery County Police determined that this reported kidnapping is unfounded and that there is no threat to the community or to the safety of children.

A 13-year-old girl was forced into a car Tuesday afternoon in Germantown but managed to escape, according to Montgomery County Police.

Around 3 p.m., the girl was approached by two male suspects in a dark grey sedan near the intersection of Waring Station Road and Stoney Bottom Road in Germantown. The suspects allegedly got out of the car and forced the teenager into it, according to police.

While being driven around, the young girl got out of the car and ran near the 20000 block of Placid Lake Terrace, where a resident found her.

She was taken to the hospital for observation.

Police described the suspects as Hispanic and Black males.

Anyone with information or who observed anything suspicious in the area where the girl was reported to have been taken or was located is asked to call police detectives at 240-773-5400.
