An 18-year-old Damascus man was charged after a fatal two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 70 in Howard County that killed one man and injured another, according to Maryland State Police.
The collision involved an Isuzu box truck and a Genesis G80. It happened around 4 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-70 near Morgan Station Road.

The deceased was a passenger of the box truck — Shakee Ali Davis, 32, of Havre de Grace, Maryland. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The box truck driver, identified as Noah Ensminger, 21, of Elkton, Maryland, was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The 18-year-old driver of the Genesis was identified by police as John Amare. According to investigators, Amare crashed into the back of the box truck, causing the vehicle to hit a guardrail and flip over.
The investigation is ongoing.
Amare is currently held with no bond. His trial is scheduled for October 29.
