Two brand new elementary schools, and a senior high held ribbon cutting ceremonies ahead the new school year.
JoAnn Lelack Elementary School in Silver Spring, Burtonsville Elementary School and Poolesville High School celebrated their new campus in late August.
“Bright classrooms, a new playground and classrooms filled with learning and laughter,” is how James, a Burtonsville student, described his new campus.
“Save the school, save the town,” said Jim Brown, chairman of the Poolesville town council. “We don’t have anything that’s been more instrimental to the well-being of this town than having a brand-new Poolesville High School.”
Poolesville had also seen remodeled classrooms back in April of 2024.
