2 Adults, 4 Juveniles Arrested for 80-Store Theft Spree Throughout Area

Six suspects — two adults and four juveniles — involved in a string of retail store pack thefts were arrested. All suspects are from Washington, D.C.

They are accused of entering retail stores in groups and stealing large amounts of items from 11 Montgomery County stores between April 28 and June 15, according to Montgomery County Police.

They also are accused of stealing from stores in D.C. and Anne Arundel County.

During each theft, they used cars that were were stolen or carjacked from D.C., police said.

Shaquille Pittman, 28, is being held without bond. He is accused of stealing from Target on Western Ave in April, Ulta in the Congressional Shopping Center in Rockville in May and June, Sephora in Pike and Rose in May and The Nike Store on Arlington Road in Bethesda in June.

Regina Christmas, 21, is Pittman’s sister. She is accused of hitting the same stores and dates as her brother, as well as Sephora on Western Avenue in June, according to police. She was arrested June 21 and released in D.C.

The juvenile suspects range in age from 13 to 17 years of age.

Pittman and the 13-year-old suspect were arrested June 15 after stealing from the Ulta in Rockville. Two 16-year-olds were arrested on July 5 and 12 and a 17-year-old was arrested June 28.

Police received several tips after distribution of a news release.

One of the juvenile suspects is also connected to multiple armed robberies and carjackings.

The losses for all the stores in Montgomery County combined is approximately $49,000, according to police.

Altogether, the suspects are believed to have stolen from more than 80 stores in the area, including CVS, which lost more than $22,000, and Macy’s, which lost $24,000.

Ulta’s losses in Montgomery County and other jurisdictions totals $78,000.
