4 Schools Shelter in Place as Police Investigate Montgomery Village Shooting

(Update): Close to 2 p.m. Monday, police stated the shelter in place has been lifted for the four schools.

(Original): Three elementary schools and a middle school are under a shelter in place Monday as police investigate a shooting in Montgomery Village.

Police responded to a shooting in the 20400 block of Lost Knife Circle, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).

Montgomery Village Middle School as well as Watkins Mill, Stedwick, and Whetstone elementary schools are sheltering in place as a precaution, according to police.
