1. Montgomery County Agricultural Fair opens today at 3 p.m. for a week of fun before students return to school. The fair runs through Saturday, Aug. 19. MCM has a booth the fair, please stop by Sunday, Wednesday or Friday to try our reporter booth. Here is a preview of the fair:

3. Metro Weekend Track Work: Red Line trains will single track between Grosvenor and Medical Center with trains operating every 20 minutes only between Friendship Heights and Shady Grove Saturday and Sunday.

4. Bloom Concert Series: Latin singer Chris Urquiaga performs on the outdoor stage at the Good Hope Neighborhood Recreation Center Saturday at 5 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and picnic snacks. 5. Maternal Health Care: Several County health programs working to support Black children and families host the “Right from the Start” community event Sunday. The event takes place at the White Oak Community Center from noon to 3 p.m. Registration is required to attend the free event; call 240.777.3118 or register online.
