5 Things to Know Today, Jan. 4, In Montgomery County

1. Coffee with a Cop: At the Holiday Park Senior Center in Wheaton from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

2. Winter Reading Challenge:  The county libraries have partnered with the Washington Wizards to get kids and teens reading. The challenge runs through March 20. Registration required, learn more here.

3. Pro Bono Legal Clinic: Meet for a One-on-One consultation with an Attorney for free between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Gaithersburg Library from 6 to 9 p.m. Legal advice in civil cases for low-income Montgomery County residents.  No appointment is necessary, but sign-ups take place at the library from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Find additional clinics here.

4. Food Resources: See food giveaway events today in the county.

5. Golden Bachelor Wedding: “Golden Bachelor” star Gerry Turner and his fiancée, Theresa Nist’s wedding will be televised tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Did you know one of the original contestants, Joan Vassos is from Rockville? Vassos shared her story with MCM:

 

And one more thing: Every Thursday, 7 Locks Brewing hosts trivia night from 7 to 9 p.m. Their taproom is located at 12227 Wilkins Avenue in Rockville.
