County Libraries, Washington Wizards Host Reading Challenge

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) have partnered with the Washington Wizards to get kids and teens reading with a winter reading challenge.

School-aged children and teens can sign up and earn badges that encourage reading for pleasure. The challenge also features interactive events, sharing and connecting with the library community, and finding ways to be physically active.

Those who complete the challenge will be eligible for a variety of prizes available while supplies last. And they may win two tickets to the Wizards’ home game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday, April 12.

D.C. Public Library, Prince George’s County Memorial Library System, Alexandria Public Library, Arlington Public Library and Fairfax County Public Library are also partners in the program.

Register for the Wizards Winter Reading Challenge by visiting MCPL’s website or in person at any of MCPL’s 21 location. The challenge is open from Jan. 3 through March 20.
