1. Council: Government Operations & Fiscal Policy Committee meeting at 9:00 a.m.

2. Girl Power Contest: The winners will be celebrated at a ceremony today, where they will receive gift bags and certificates signed by County Executive Mark Elrich.

3. Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Council (AODAAC): Meets monthly to discuss and continue learning about substance use issues facing our community. AODAAC provides guidance to the County Executive and County Council to identify alcohol and other drug prevention and treatment needs in Montgomery County and reviews the County’s efforts to address those needs.

4. MCDOT: The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is holding a series of informal “pop-up events” at bus stops and transit centers along the US 29 corridor. At the events, the team will share information about the US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, distribute giveaways, and provide information about the upcoming public meeting on Tuesday, June 10.

5. ICYMI: Montgomery County Police used grants to purchase two large, inflatable safety cushions to limit injuries of those falling from bridges, buildings, or garages.
