1. Ramadan: Sunday was the first day of Ramadan and will continue through April 9. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide with fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.

2. Council President Briefing: Council President Andrew Friedson, joined by business leaders and councilmembers, will announce a new initiative to create up to 1,000 new jobs, spur innovation, and invest in equity focus areas today at 11:30 a.m. during a media briefing.

3. Planning Board Vacancy: The County Council is working to fill a full-term member of the County Planning Board in June when the partial term of Commissioner Bartley expires. Deadline to submit an application is today at 5 p.m. Learn more here.

 

4. Gaithersburg Seeks Volunteer Fixers: Gaithersburg wants to help residents dispose less and fix more. The city will host a Fix-It Fair on June 1 and is recruiting volunteer fixers. Anyone interested should email the city by March 18. Learn more here.
