1. Council: Committee meetings.

2. Domestic Violence: Virtual meeting today from 5 to 7 p.m. The Domestic Violence Coordinating Council (DVCC) was established by the Montgomery County Council in 2006 with the mission of reducing the incidence of domestic violence and creating a safe community for families to live free of abuse.

3. Montgomery Planning Board: The Montgomery County Planning Board, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), scheduled a public hearing on the Great Seneca Plan: Connecting Life and Science for Thursday, March 14 in the Second Floor Auditorium of The M-NCPPC’s Wheaton Headquarters (2425 Reedie Drive, Wheaton, MD, 20902).

4. Pedestrian Safety: The MCDOT Pedestrian Safety Team will be at Ellsworth Place in downtown Silver Spring from 4 to 8 p.m. to promote pedestrian, driving, and bike safety to Montgomery County residents. Visit the MCDOT table at the Level 2 mall entrance near Ben and Jerry’s and Kung Fu Tea for free giveaways and learn more about the safety programs.

5. ICYMI: 136 nonprofits, faith organizations and houses of worship in Montgomery County were awarded $900,000 in security grants in an effort to deter hate crimes. The funding can go toward security personnel, security planning, training and new security cameras.
