2. Wheaton TGIF Encore Concert: Enjoy an outdoor concert as Ochos Los Bastos performs Friday at the Marian Fryer Town Plaza, adjacent to the Wheaton Business Triangle and near the Wheaton Metro Station. Happy Hour DJ kicks off the evening at 5 p.m. followed by the live concert at 6 p.m.

3. Taste of Bethesda: After a three-year hiatus—due to the pandemic and bad weather—the Taste of Bethesda returns Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

4. Harvest Festival: Experience Montgomery County’s farming and cultural history during the 29th Annual Harvest Festival at the Agricultural History Farm Park. Enjoy a beautiful, fun-filled day on the farm with historic crafts, activities, music, and food Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Agricultural History Farm Park, 18400 Muncaster Road, Derwood. 5. Oktoberfest at the Kentlands: The 30th annual celebration takes place Sunday at the Kentlands from noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy pumpkin carving and apple cider pressing demonstrations, inflatables, crafts, pumpkin and face painting, balloons, artists and crafters, and strolling entertainers. Three stages of live entertainment features Sol Roots, La Unica, Donuts for Dinner, and The Real Geniuses.

And two more things:

  • Stop by Gaithersburg High School Saturday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. to attend a Wellness Fair. There will be yoga demonstrations, health resources, public safety, face painting and exercise programs. Take a tour of the Wellness Center and meet some of the Gaithersburg High School athletes.
  • Spooky Halloween fun may be found in all corners of the county. Check out this list of haunted forests and houses, live theatre, and movies near home for the scariest of times.
