Celebrate Damascus Festival 2025 Hosts 2 Days of Activities

The annual festival and parade Celebrate Damascus will take place on Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12, with a community parade, fireworks, flea market and games.

On Friday, the celebration kicks off with a community parade at 7 p.m., traveling Route 27 from Damascus High School to Lewis Drive and ending at the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department Activities Grounds. Lineup for the parade begins at 5:45.

After the parade, the Activities Grounds will host a fireworks display. The Fire Department will have food for sale outside and provide free chicken dinners indoors in the Activities Hall from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

On Saturday, Montgomery County Fair Trams will provide free transportation around Damascus to facilitate festival travel. Tram service begins at 10 a.m. Festivities include a flea market at the Damascus Lions Club, which opens at 9 a.m. and an open house at the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jimmie Cone will host ice cream eating contests for children and adults. The children’s contest begins at 11:30 a.m. and the adult contest at noon.

The Damascus United Methodist Church, which will host pony rides, a moon bounce, fair games and food trucks.

Ride On Bus 90 will stop regular service from 5 to 9 p.m. The route will detour at Route 27 and Valley Park Drive to avoid conflict with the parade, bypassing downtown Damascus and rejoining its usual route at Valley Park Drive and Woodfield Road.
