MCM Hosts Play By Play Sports Broadcasting Camp

Forty young people will spend the week at MCM learning all about sports broadcasting.

Play By Play Sports Broadcasting Camps offers a week-long program to learn about radio and television sports broadcasting and podcasting. The 10- to 17-year-olds heard from and were able to speak with radio and television announcers and other officials covering the Commanders, Wizards, IronBirds, Capitals and WUSA9’s sports director.

On Monday, Bram Weinstein, radio play by play announcer for the Washington Commanders, told campers about his “dream job” that includes lots of research and practicing to correctly pronounce players’ names.

He answered lots of questions about his favorite players and broadcast moments.

Participants range in age from 10 to 17 years. Play by Play Sports Broadcasting Camps take place in 14 different venues around the United States.
