The City of Gaithersburg recently announced expansions to their RainScapes Rewards, a program in collaboration with the Chesapeake Bay Trust. Tuesday evening, there’ll be an info session unpacking what these changes mean.

RainScapes Rewards Rebate program encourages residents to take steps to improve stormwater runoff conditions on their property, according to the Program’s website. Eligible projects include tree canopies, which come with a $150 rebate allowance per large tree and $100 per small tree, and rain barrels, with a rebate allowance of $1 per gallon, among others.

It is open to “residential property owners, homeowners associations, private education facilities, nonprofits, and multifamily dwellings,” according to the Program website. The City’s program takes after the preexisting Montgomery County and City of Rockville RainScapes Rebate programs.

Changes to the RainScapes program include tree planting and rain gardens, the City of Gaithersburg X post said.

Register here to learn more about the RainScapes program additions in a virtual information session this Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
