Blistering heat did not stop Independence Day celebrations for America’s and Montgomery County’s 250th anniversary.
Despite temperatures near 100 degrees on Friday, people crowded the field at Einstein High School in Kensington for this Semiquincentennial. People were feeling the heat as they awaited fireworks, while reflecting on what this 250th anniversary means to them.
The start time for the event was delayed 30 minutes due to the heat. The original 7 p.m. start time was pushed to 7:30 p.m.
