2. Center For Displaced Federal Workers: As federal workers struggle to find new employment, WorkSource Montgomery is about to open a center just for them. Mobilize Montgomery Federal Workforce Career Center (FWCC) is expected to open in the fall.

3. Mother-Daughter Volleyball Camp: This summer, Coach Jaqui Queirolo, along with her daughter, Coach Jaylin Anderson, launched a Mother-Daughter Summer Volleyball Clinic in Poolesville. What started as a simple idea has turned into a mission with deep roots and a powerful impact.
4. Jazz Festival: The lineup was announced for the Sept. 6 Silver Spring Jazz Festival.
5. ICYMI: Sen. Chris Van Hollen spoke at a rally to support Social Security in the Baltimore Harbor. The main message of the rally was, “Social Security is a promise — not a handout — and it’s under attack. We’re here to say: hands off our checks.”
