Amazing run for Raptors Comes to a Close

For the Montgomery College men’s soccer team, the dream of a national title did not come true but that didn’t diminish the amazing accomplishments of the season.  The Raptors finished the year as Region 20 Champions and NJCAA Division I national qualifiers, marking one of the strongest campaigns in program history.

In their opening game of the NJCAA National Tournament last week in Daytona Beach, Florida, Montgomery College upset top seed Tyler Junior College 2–0 before falling to No. 8-seeded Indian Hills Community College 5–1. With that victory, Indian Hills advanced out of the group play and would go on to win the national championship. The Raptors finished the season with a 16–6–1 record.

Montgomery County was well represented on the Montgomery College soccer squad with nine players on the team playing their high school soccer in county.
